When Someone Laughs at You
When someone laughs at you, laugh with them, it’s way more fun that way!
At work someone thought it would be hilarious to make a little joke about my colleague and I, about how close we are as friends and questioned (taunted?) me by saying, “bet you guys do everything together”. Without thinking I laughed naturally and responded “YES! It’s really fun, plus he’s a nice guy so we have a great time!” with the level of enthusiasm and arms swinging all over the place, somewhat like the Tasmanian devil from Looney Tunes, you probably wouldn’t have approached me in public but at the same time would’ve envied the fun I was having, left her speechless.
I’m not sure if she intended on trying to make me feel uncomfortable, but using the motto ‘If someone laughs at you, laugh with them, it’s more fun’ I genuinely did not look at this comment in a negative way that it could’ve been looked at.
In life you are only given so much time, so why waste time worrying about what others say or by being cruel back to someone, especially someone who needs kindness in their life.
Be a bit wild, swing your arms around, and wave them like you just don’t care. Don’t respond to make someone feel bad, be positive and show that you can handle criticism or jealousy or whatever the source is for their behaviour.
Stay Inspired. Stay Laughing. Hy-Power.
